Born, raised, and currently based in the Midwest, Elisabeth Corrin Maurus—aka Lissie—has been making music since she was a child in Rock Island, Illinois. Having followed Lissie from her very first album, it was surreal sitting in her home, looking at the Gold record of Catching a Tiger on the wall. You can tell that she’s a natural storyteller as her memories of travels and prior homes all add importance and weight to her songs. In our chat, Lissie shares her struggles as a solo artist and how putting in the hard work and learning how to network and collaborate has helped her succeed and sustain longevity for nearly 20 years. Lissie has accomplished so much while still continuing to stoke the fire of songwriting and performing. Listen to our conversation below and check out her website for upcoming tour dates, including a two-day gig at The Dakota June 12-13!
